Abstract

Unazad nekoliko godina, pa čak i desetljeća, građevinska industrija mijenja svoje lice.đ Ubrzanim razvojem i globalizacijom te s transformacijom gotovo svih industrija svijeta, građevinska poduzeća primorana su ići u korak u nastojanju održavanja svoje ekonomičnosti, ali i kvalitete. Građevinski projekti postaju kompleksniji i zahtjevniji, te voditelji projekata moraju pronaći način kako svoja dosadašnja tehnička znanja nadograditi i integrirati s menadžerskim vještinama. U ovom radu prikazana je i opisana spomenuta druga strana kompetencije, potrebna za uspješno poslovanje građevinskim poduzećem. Uz osvrt na osnovne vještine koje posjeduje kvalitetan menadžer, te na razvoj menadžmenta kroz povijest, daje se uvid u važnost konstantnog razvijanja i nadopunjavanja vlastitih znanja u različitim područjima koje organizacija i upravljanje građevinskim poduzećem ili građevinskim projektom sa sobom nosi. Osim toga, rad obrađuje statističke podatke zastupljenosti menadžmenta u današnjem obrazovnom sustavu, te prikazuje istraživanje o percepciji polaznika MBACon programa na pojedine karakteristike menadžera i važnosti istih u doprinosu njihovoj osobnoj karijeri.

Abstract (english)

Over the past few years and even decades, the construction industry has been changing its face. With accelerated development and globalization and with the transformation of almost all industries in the world, construction companies are forced to keep pace in an effort to maintain their economy, but also their quality. Construction projects are becoming more complex and demanding, and project managers must find a way to upgrade and integrate their previous technical knowledge with managerial skills. This paper presents and describes the aforementioned another side of competence, which is necessary for the successful operation of a construction company. With a review of the basic skills that a quality manager must have, and the development of management throughout history, an insight is given into the importance of constantly developing and supplementing one's own knowledge in various areas that the organization and management of a construction company or construction project entails. In addition, the paper processes statistical data on the representation of management in today's educational system, and presents research on the perception of MBACon program participants on individual characteristics of managers and the importance of those characteristics in contributing to their personal career.
