Abstract

Ovaj završni rad istražuje suvremene pristupe u gradnji visokih zgrada koristeći drvo kao
glavni materijal. S obzirom na sve veću potrebu za održivim i ekološki prihvatljivim
rješenjima u urbanom razvoju, masivno drvo se sve više prepoznaje kao ključni materijal
u visokogradnji. Rad analizira tehnološke inovacije, prednosti i izazove povezane s
primjenom drva u visokim zgradama.
Tehnološki napreci, uključujući poboljšane metode prefabrikacije, otpornost na požar i
napredne građevinske tehnike, omogućili su drvetu da postane konkurentno u izgradnji
visokih objekata. Ovi napreci ne samo da povećavaju sigurnost i dugovječnost drvenih
zgrada, već također pridonose smanjenju njihovog ekološkog otiska i promoviraju
održive građevinske prakse.
U radu su prikazani primjeri globalnih projekata visokih zgrada od drva, koji ilustriraju
kako ovaj materijal može zadovoljiti moderne estetske i funkcionalne zahtjeve.
Zaključak rada naglašava da, unatoč trenutnim izazovima, masivno drvo ima značajan
potencijal za oblikovanje budućnosti urbanog razvoja. S rastućim naglaskom na
održivost i inovacije, očekuje se da će visoke zgrade od drva igrati ključnu ulogu u
stvaranju ekološki prihvatljivijih i otpornijih gradova.

Abstract (english)

This thesis explores contemporary approaches to the construction of tall buildings using
wood as the primary material. Given the increasing need for sustainable and
environmentally friendly solutions in urban development, mass timber is increasingly
recognized as a key material in high-rise construction. The thesis analyzes technological
innovations, advantages and challenges associated with the use of wood in tall
buildings.
Technological advancements, including improved prefabrication methods, fire
resistance, and advanced construction techniques, have enabled wood to become
competitive in the construction of tall structures. These advancements not only
enhance the safety and durability of wooden buildings but also contribute to reducing
their environmental footprint and promoting sustainable construction practices.
The thesis presents examples of global tall timber building projects that demonstrate
how this material can meet modern aesthetic and functional requirements.
The conclusion emphasizes that, despite current challenges, mass timber holds
significant potential for shaping the future of urban development. With a growing
emphasis on sustainability and innovation, tall timber buildings are expected to play a
key role in creating more environmentally friendly and resilient cities.
