Abstract

Danas, u vremenu prepunom suvremenih materijala poput čelika, stakla i betona te drugih složenih materijala drvo predstavlja jedan od glavnih građevinskih materijala. S arhitektonskog gledišta drvo je plemenit materijal sa širokim mogućnostima konstruktivnog oblikovanja. Uslijed potreba za prirodno obnovljivim i ekološki prihvatljivim sirovinama i građevinskim materijalom drvo doživljava vlastitu renesansu. Drvo je veoma dostupan i ekonomičan materijal te se time smanjuje cijena izgradnje drvenih objekata naspram izgradnje zidanih objekata. Napretkom tehnologije korištenja drva, pronalaskom načina i sredstava za zaštitu drva, novim metodama prerade drva i spajanja (sintetske smole, ljepila te čelični spojni elementi) vrijednost drva danas sve više raste te se područje njegove upotrebe proširilo. Zato drvo predstavlja materijal budućnosti.

Abstract (english)

In today time’s time full of contemporary materials like steel, glass, concrete and other complex materials, wood represents one of the main building materials. From an architectural point of view, wood is a noble material with extensive structural design capabilities. Due to the need for naturally renewable and environmentally friendly raw materials and building materials, wood is experiencing a renaissance. Wood is a very affordable and economical material, so it reduces the cost of constructing timber structures in comparison to masonry buildings. With the advancement of wood technology, finding ways and means of protecting wood, with new methods of wood processing and joining (synthetic resin, adhesives and steel binding elements) the value of wood is rising and its area of use has expanded. That is why wood is the material of the future.
