Abstract

Željeznički pragovi jedan su od osnovnih dijelova kolosijeka. Zbog njihove važnosti i široke primjene, predmet su mnogobrojnih istraživanja u svrhu unapređenja. Također, svjedoci smo sve većim potrebama i trendovima za održivom gradnjom. Kao odgovor na navedene trendove javljaju se kompozitni pragovi. Razvojem kompozitnih pragova pokušavaju se dobiti visoko iskoristivi elementi, koji kao odgovor na potrebe održivosti koriste reciklirane materijale i smanjuju emisiju CO2 u odnosu na standardne betonske i čelične pragove. Stoga su u ovom radu prvo opisani standardni željeznički pragovi, zatim su istražena svojstva različitih vrsta kompozitnih pragova. U radu su istaknute najveće prepreke za širu upotrebu kompozitnih pragova, te su predložene smjernice kako bi se te prepreke savladale. Također, objašnjen je i način ugradnje kompozitnih pragova. Na kraju, donesen je zaključak da kompozitni pragovi s vremenom mogu postati standard.

Abstract (english)

The railway sleepers are one of the basic parts of the rail track. They are the subject of many researches, because of their importance and wide application. Also, the strive for more sustainable construction industry is visible all around us. As a response to that, composite railway sleepers are introduced in the rail industry. The idea of composite sleepers is to have very efficient and sustainable element. To fulfil the sustainability requirements, the recycled plastic is used, and CO2 emission is reduced in comparison to standard wood, concrete or steel sleepers. Therefore, the standard railway sleepers are first described in this paper, then the different properties of composite sleepers are explored. Furthermore, in the paper are shown the most important challenges for wider application of composite sleepers, and later are given guidelines on how to overcome those obstacles. The installation process of sleepers is described as well. In the end, it is concluded that composite sleepers can become standard over time.
