Abstract

U sloju atmosfere koji graniči sa zemljinom površinom događaju se turbulentna gibanja zraka i takav sloj poznat je kao atmosferski granični sloj. Na takva gibanja utječe hrapavost zemljine površine, a visina mu može biti i do jedan kilometar. Razni objekti na tlu kao što su zgrade, drveća u nizu, šume itd., u pogledu utjecaja na samo gibanje zraka promatraju se kao elementi hrapavosti. Brzina vjetra u različitim područjima varira pa se u dijelovima iznad razine mora znatno povećava s porastom visine, dok je u područjima veće hrapavosti terena takvo povećavanje znatno sporije. Vjetrobrani predstavljaju barijere koje smanjuju brzinu te preusmjeravaju tok vjetra. Najčešće ih čini drveće i grmlje, a to mogu biti i zaštitne ograde. Smanjenje brzine vjetra iza vjetrobrana mijenja uvjete okoliša i mikroklime u zaštićenom području. Glavnu strukturu vjetrobrana čine visina, gustoća, broj redova, sastav vrsta, duljina, orijentacija i kontinuitet. Ovi čimbenici određuju učinkovitost vjetrobrana u smanjenju brzine vjetra i mijenjanju mikroklime. Pri zaštiti tla od utjecaja eolske erozije mogu se primijeniti brojne metode, od stvaranja površine tla otpornije na djelovanje vjetra do postavljanja barijera. Učinkovitost vjetrobrana u cilju smanjenja brzine vjetra može se modelirati raznim simulacijskim metodama.

Abstract (english)

Turbulent air movements occur in the layer of the atmosphere adjacent to the earth's surface, and such layer is known as the atmospheric boundary layer. Such movements are affected by the roughness of the earth's surface, and its height can be up to one kilometer. Various objects on the ground, such as buildings, row trees, forests, etc., in terms of the impact on the air movement itself, are viewed as elements of roughness. The wind speed in different areas varies, so in parts above sea level it increases significantly with increasing altitude, while in areas of higher terrain roughness such an increase is much slower. The windbreaks are barriers that reduce speed and redirect wind flow. They are usually made of trees and shrubs, and they can also be protective fences. Reducing the wind speed behind the windbreak changes the environmental conditions and microclimate in the protected area. The main structure of windbreaks consists of height, density, number of rows, composition of species, length, orientation, and continuity. These factors determine the effectiveness of windbreaks in reducing wind speed and changing the microclimate. Numerous methods can be used to protect the soil from the effects of wind erosion, from making the soil surface more resistant to wind action to setting up barriers. The efficiency of windbreaks in order to reduce wind speed can be modeled by various simulation methods.
