Abstract

Sastav tla rezultat je niza konstantnih prirodnih pojava i procesa, posljedica nakon erozija vode i vjetra te trošenja. Dugotrajni period nastanka donio je promjene u sastavu tla, svojstvu materijala, debljini slojeva, čvrstoći i stišljivosti Zemljine kore. Kako bismo predvidjeli ponašanje tla, potrebno je poznavati njegov sastav, svojstva i redoslijed slojeva te stanje podzemnih voda. Podzemne vode su sastavni dio svakog tla i, pod djelovanjem opterećenja, značajno utječu na ponašanje tla, što geotehničko inženjerstvo čini kompleksnijim. In-situ ispitivanja karakteristika tla oduvijek je bilo od posebnog interesa za geotehničku praksu. U radu je obrađen jedan od najčešćih penetracijskih pokusa, statički penetracijski pokus (CPT). Početak rada govori općenito o geotehničkim istražnim radovima u tlu, prednostima u odnosu na laboratorijska ispitivanjima i razvoju kroz povijest. Zatim se predstavlja standardna ispitna oprema kao i njena funkcija, a nakon tog se kroz postupak ispitivanja pokušava približiti uloga ispitne opreme.

Abstract (english)

Soil composition is the result of constant natural processes, water and wind erosion and other types of wear. The long period of earth formation changed the composition of the soil, thickness of its layers and strength and compressibility of the Earth's crust. In order to predict soil behavior it is vital to understand its composition, layer's properties and order and groundwater conditions. Groundwater is an integral part of every soil. When under load, it significantly affects soil behaviour, making geotechnical engineering more complex. On-site testing of soil characteristics has always been of particular interest for geotechnical practice. This paper discusses one of the most common penetration experiments, Cone Penetration Test (CPT). Introduction offers general insight in geotechnical soil research, advantages over laboratory tests and developments throughout history. Standard test equipment is presented, followed by the application of testing process to identify functions of the test equipment.
