Abstract

Čovjek je još od najstarijeg doba upoznat s tehnikom zidanja koja potječe još iz vremena kada je slaganjem kamena ili gline sebi radio sklonište. Upravo je napretkom čovjeka i razvojem graditeljstva započela izvedba cijelih građevina, tj. njihovih zidova, stupova, lukova, svodova, kupola, kamina, dimnjaka i dr. tehnikom zidanja. Definicija se zidanih konstrukcija nije drastično mijenjala kroz povijest, ona uključuje zidove i druge građevne konstrukcije izgrađene od jediničnih građevnih elemenata suhom ugradbom ili povezivanjem mortom ili drugim veznim sredstvom. U ovom radu, osim povijesti, razvoja i osnovnih karakteristika zidanih konstrukcija, prikazat će se slabosti zgrada izgrađenih tradicionalnim pristupom te mogućnosti poboljšanja istih.

Abstract (english)

From the earliest times, man has been acquainted with the masonry technique, which dates back to the time when he worked a shelter for himself by stacking stone or clay. It was with the progress of man and the development of construction that the construction of entire buildings began, ie their walls, columns, arches, vaults, domes, fireplaces, chimneys, etc. with the masonry technique. The definition of masonry structures has not changed drastically throughout history, it includes walls and other building structures constructed of unit building elements by dry installation or bonding with mortar or other binder. In this paper, in addition to the history, development and basic characteristics of masonry structures, the weaknesses of buildings built with a traditional approach and the possibility of improving them will be presented.
