Abstract

Staklo je posljednjih godina jedan od najznačajnijih materijala u građevinskoj industriji. Fasada predstavlja lice, odnosno izgled građevine. Međutim, osim estetske, fasada mora imati i zaštitnu funkciju. Tako staklena fasada svojim atraktivnim izgledom čini sastavni dio današnje arhitekture, ali je također i funkcionalna, odnosno energetski učinkovita sa što većom propusnošću svjetlosti i što manjim gubicima energije grijanja. Ovaj sustav fasada ima širok spektar namjene, od poslovnih objekata, pa sve do luksuznih privatnih kuća. U ovom radu je prikazan povijesni razvoj stakla od prirodnog do građevinskog materijala, njegova karakteristična svojstva te vrste stakla koje se upotrebljavaju za fasade. Također su opisane i posebne metode poboljšanja svojstava stakla kako bi se zadovoljili specifični zahtjevi pojedine građevine. Abstract (english)

Glass has been one of the most important materials in the construction industry in recent years. The facade represents the face or appearance of the structure. In addition to aesthetic, however, the facade must have a protective function. Thus, with its attractive appearance, the glass facade forms an integral part of today's architecture, but it is also functional, i.e. energy efficient with as much light permeability as possible and as few energy losses as possible. This paper presents historical development of glass from natural to construction material, its characteristic properties and types of glass used for facades. Special methods for improving glass properties in order to meet specific requirements of an individual building are also described.
