Abstract

Područje Grada Opuzena nalazi se u potresnoj zoni te se može očekivati pojava seizmičkih hazarda poput likvefakcije tla. Likvefakcija tla ili otekućivanje fenomen je pretvaranja stabilnog i nosivog tla u viskoznu tekuću masu te može imati razorne posljedice poput rušenja objekata i oštećenja infrastrukture. Za smanjenje likvefakcije koriste se razne metode poboljšanja tla, a jedna od njih je izvedba šljunčanih stupova u tlu. U ovom diplomskom radu obrađena je tehnologija izvedbe šljunčanih stupova, proračun, njihov utjecaj na smanjenje likvefakcije te praktični primjer korištenja šljunčanih stupova ispod brane na jezeru Salmon u SAD-u.

Abstract (english)

As the city of Opuzen area is located in the earthquake zone, seismic hazards, such as soil liquefaction, can be expected. Soil liquefaction can be defined as a phenomenon in which otherwise stabile and solid soil temporarily behaves as a viscous liquid. This phenomenon may have devastating consequences, such as damage to infrastructure or collapse of buildings. In order to mitigate soil liquefaction, many methods are used, stone columns installation included. In this master thesis stone columns installation technology has been studied. Accordingly, the stone columns design and its impact on soil liquefaction mitigation have been shown. Finally, in order to confirm the positive effect of the stone columns on soil liquefaction mitigation, a practical example of their use under dam on the lake Salamon in the USA has been presented.
