Abstract

Ovaj završni rad bavi se istraživanjem stakla, odnosno mogućnostima njegove primjene u zgradarstvu s naglaskom na staklene konstruktivne elemente. Tema završnog rada obrađena je podjelom na nekoliko dijelova. U prvom dijelu rada, staklo je opisano kao materijal. Objašnjen je značaj njegove strukture i njegova mehanička, kemijska, optička, toplinska i električna svojstva koja su bitna za njegovu primjenu u arhitekturi i građevinarstvu. Također je opisan način dobivanja stakla budući da je staklo umjetan materijal. U drugom dijelu rada opisana je povijest upotrebe stakla od njegove pojave pa do danas. Sljedeći dio ovog završnog rada opisana je povijest upotrebe stakla koje se koriste u zgradarstvu. Dan je njihov pregled s njihovim glavnim značajkama koje diktiraju način na koji se staklo može koristiti. Poglavlje koje slijedi opisuje primjenu stakla kao konstrukcijskog elementa, tj. kao ziđa, grede, stupa i sl. Osim toga opisane su i staklene obloge. Na samom kraju rada daju se tri primjera izvedenih zgrada koje u svojoj konstrukciji imaju staklene elemente.

Abstract (english)

This final paper deals with the research of glass, specifically its applications in buildings with an emphasis on glass structural elements. The topic of the paper is divided into several parts. In the first part of the final paper, glass is described as a material. The significance of its structure and its mechanical, chemical, optical, thermal, and electrical properties, which are important for its application in architecture and construction, are explained. The process of glass production is also described, since glass is an artificial material. The second part of the paper covers the history of glass usage from its appearance to the present day. The next part focuses on the types of glass used in construction. An overview is provided, highlighting their main characteristics that dictate how glass can be used. The following chapter discusses the application of glass as a structural element, such as walls, beams, columns, and others. Glass facades are also described. Finally, the paper concludes with three examples of completed buildings that incorporate glass elements into their construction.
