Abstract

Poboljšanje tla predstavlja kontroliranu promjenu stanja, svojstava ili ponašanja tla radi postizanja planiranih i zadovoljavajućih rezultata postojećih ili predviđenih inženjerskih zahvata. Tehnologija dubinskog miješanja koristi mehaničke strojeve za razbijanje
strukture tla, dok se vezivno sredstvo unosi u tlo kako bi se stvorili elementi različitih oblika i konfiguracija. Krajnji rezultat ovog postupka je povećana krutost i čvrstoća mekih tala. Veliki potencijal za primjenu industrijskih otpadnih materijala u dubinskom
miješanju tla imaju zgura i leteći pepeo. Smanjenje upotrebe cementa i vapna doprinosi smanjenju emisije CO2.

Ovaj doktorski rad pruža uvid u krutost i čvrstoću zagrebačke gline poboljšane upotrebom veziva poput letećeg pepela, zgure i cementa. Rad detaljno opisuje postupak poboljšanja proveden u laboratorijskim uvjetima, kao i varijacije rezultata ispitivanja
jednoosne čvrstoće i modula elastičnosti na uzorcima pripremljenim s različitim udjelima pojedinih komponenata veziva i zagrebačke gline. Cilj ovog istraživanja jest razumjeti mehaničko ponašanje zagrebačke gline poboljšane različitim vezivima u različitim uvjetima tla. Time će se omogućiti određivanje fizikalnih i mehaničkih parametara potrebnih za projektiranje održivog poboljšanja zagrebačke gline, temeljenog na rezultatima standardnih laboratorijskih ispitivanja. Istraživanja su pokazala da se krutost prirodne gline može značajno povećati dodatkom određenih vrsta veziva, no to povećanje nije isto na svakoj lokaciji, zbog čega nije moguće dati univerzalno rješenje.

Za potrebe istraživanja u laboratoriju Građevinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu ispitana su 432 uzorka kompozita zagrebačke gline i veziva (cementa, letećeg pepela i zgure).

Abstract (english)

Soil improvement is a controlled change in the condition, nature or behavior of the soil due to the achievement of planned and satisfactory results of existing or designed engineering interventions. Deep mixing technology breaks down the soil structure with the help of mechanical machines, the binder is mixed into the soil and elements in the soil of various shapes and configurations are obtained. The end result is improved stiffness and strength of soft soils. The use of slag and fly ash has great potential for the use of industrial waste materials in deep soil mixing. Reducing cement and lime consumption will help reduce CO2 emissions.

This doctoral thesis provides insight into the stiffness and strength of Zagreb clay improved with binders such as fly ash, slag and cement. The paper describes a detailed procedure for improvement in laboratory conditions, and the variation of uniaxial strength and modulus of elasticity test results on samples made with different
proportions of each binder component and Zagreb clay.

The main goal of this research is to investigate a better understanding of the mechanical behavior of Zagreb clay improved by different binders in different soil conditions. This will enable the determination of mechanical parameters necessary for the design of sustainable improvement of Zagreb clay based on the results of standard laboratory experiments.

For research purposes, 432 samples of composites of Zagreb clay and binders (cement, fly ash and slag) were tested in the laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Zagreb.
